Types of Camps (program options):

Ages 5 to 13 - Day Camps - Camp Samac, Oshawa.  Download: Day Camp Letter

Our daily program is very well balanced. The activities offered through the day camp are  selected because they are fun and because they help to build skills and self-confidence, respect for others and the environment and teamwork. Each activity is age-appropriate and takes into consideration skill levels of the youth participating. Each child will enjoy small activities with his or her counselor group as well as visiting our many sites on the property. These sites include: Our Water Front where youth can participate in canoeing and a small canoe trip; the Arts Centre where they can create, build, sculpt, paint and enjoy arts and crafts; our Nature Centre where youth have an opportunity to learn about the many species of plants and animals at Camp Samac and participate in fun projects involving nature and the environment; Camp Samac’s Pool, where youth have an opportunity, each afternoon, to hone their swimming skills, or enjoy playing in the water with friends and Special Events which take place each Friday afternoon and coincide with our theme.

Samac Adventure Base is the place to be this summer. This program emphasizes the development of outdoor skills, environmental awareness and wilderness exploration on our 520 scenic acres. The camp emphasizes outdoor living and therefore everyone will be spending his or her evenings in tent groups.  Our daily program will be balanced between skills instruction, exciting skills development and challenges, meal preparation and free time. All programs will focus on outdoor skills, trust and teambuilding (some of the planned activities will include hiking, kayaking, canoeing, swimming, shelter building and adventure challenges). We are hoping to challenge our campers with adventure with an emphasis on safety
